This is a picture of the 3 volcanos at Lake Attitlan taken from the public swimming area a short distance from the hotel where we stayed in Pananjachel. We could see them from our room as well. On a trip to the villages across the lake close to the shore we saw floating rocks something we had never seen before. We believe they are pumice stone but are not sure so we took a couple back to the boat for souvenirs.
Yes....the comment section is working for me now! Looks like a beautiful place. Never heard of floating rocks until just now. Looks like something in the water at about 8 o'clock...swimmers?

No not swimmers that day. the water was rough and pretty cold there in the high country. Every day in the afternoon the lake really got rough. We did see lots of kids in dugouts and kayaks early in the day. The Guatemalans often use a boat they call a cayuca which is dugout by hand. We have even seen small children paddling around in them.
